What we do
Sunfresh is proud of its achievements as Australia’s top grower-owned marketing business. Our success with avocados has led to the expansion of our range to include other fruit such as mangoes, lychee, citrus, custard apples, persimmons, low-chill stone fruit and strawberries.
We currently deliver more than 500,000 cartons or trays of fruit into every major market in Australia each year on behalf of our members and forecast an annual growth of 15 per cent.
Research and development is a high priority for Sunfresh. Our innovative thinking and focus on the future of Australia’s horticulture industry has seen us involved in a collaborative project to trial controlled atmosphere storage for the export of avocados to Europe.
Packing Service
Recognising a need for a packing service for small growers, we now have a modest plant at our Palmwoods facility and our ripening facility conditions avocados precisely to the requirements of our retail and export clients.
Global Reach – marketing to the world
Sunfresh has developed a thriving export business. Through our commitment to industry sustainability and the need to exceed our member expectations, we actively sought off-shore markets and built sound business relationships that saw us commence the export of avocados to Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand in 2001. Entry into the Middle-East and European markets is in the immediate future.
Our commitment to quality
At Sunfresh there is no compromise on quality. We strive for the highest standard of uniformity in product quality and packing process from all our members—a reputation our clients have come to expect.
SQF 2000 food safety and quality risk management accreditation inspires confidence and trust in our suppliers and customers.
We have a clearly defined and comprehensive quality assurance program with training, support and advice available to our members.
Our audit system guarantees best practice packing, recording and orchard management, while barcodes on our packed products ensures it is traceable from the paddock to the plate.
